How we’re funded<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our work in Greenpeace is almost entirely funded by donations given to us by passionate individuals, like yourself, who care about the planet and want to help us create change. In addition to your contributions, we also receive grants from private charitable foundations that align with our rigorous standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding Greenpeace Campaigns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our independence is essential for effective campaigning, so we do not accept funding from governments, corporations, political parties, or intergovernmental organizations. We rigorously screen all large private donations to ensure they don\u2019t compromise our independence or integrity. If a donation raises concerns, we will refuse or return it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donations empower people to join our campaigners and activists in driving change. We handle supporters\u2019 gifts with respect and responsibility, aiming to create the biggest impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We balance costs with results for the best value and transparently detail our fundraising costs in our annual accounts. All our fundraising methods comply with internal principles and professional codes of conduct in every country we operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transparency and Accountability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Greenpeace works actively to ensure transparency and public accountability in its campaigning, fundraising, and financial management practices.

Greenpeace is a Member of Accountable Now<\/a>, a platform of international civil society organisations. Together, we strive to be transparent, responsive to stakeholders and focused on delivering impact. We have signed ten globally-agreed-upon Accountability Commitments<\/a> and seek to respect human rights, be independent and work ethically and professionally.

Annually Greenpeace reports publicly on our economic, environmental and social performance according to the Accountable Now Reporting Framework<\/a> to an Independent Review Panel.
