Every year, they\u2019re pumping out 6.4 billion of the worst offenders, sachets &#8211; small, single use plastic packaging &#8211; onto communities in the global south. That\u2019s 12,000 every minute! These tiny plastic sachets are nearly impossible to collect and even harder to recycle.<\/p>\n<div class=\"EmptyMessage\">Block content is empty. Greenpeace activists in the Philippines have seen with their own eyes the devastating damage of Dove\u2019s toxic plastic waste. They\u2019ll tell you they\u2019re changing. They\u2019ll tell you recycling\u2019s the answer and that they\u2019ve got big targets. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/usa\/news\/new-greenpeace-report-plastic-recycling-is-a-dead-end-street-year-after-year-plastic-recycling-declines-even-as-plastic-waste-increases\/\">But recycling alone is a dead end. We simply can\u2019t recycle our way out of this crisis.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>The truth is Dove and Unilever are letting us down. They have to change. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to turn the tide and finally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/act\/lets-end-the-age-of-plastic\/\">end the age of plastic<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Dove&#8217;s owner Unilever has huge influence over the Treaty. They can lead the change by phasing out their own single use plastic and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/global-plastics-treaty\/\">pushing for that same ambition in the Treaty<\/a>. But they continue to promote a throwaway single-use model where corporate profits outweigh the human and environmental cost to our communities.<\/p>\n\n<p>We&#8217;re not here to shame Dove or its consumers. We&#8217;re here to challenge a brand to live up to its proclaimed values. We&#8217;re here to empower those who have been let down and those who have been directly impacted by Dove&#8217;s plastic waste.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Dove say they care about \u2018real beauty\u2019?
