Join us in supporting the creation of \u201cCommunity Seas\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 marine protected areas led by local communities \u2014 and stand up for the rights of coastal communities who are increasingly vulnerable to climate change, industrial pollution, industrial expansion, and destructive fishing practices.<\/p>\n<\/div>

#OceanJustice<\/h3>\n\n

We call for the protection of coastal communities\u2019 rights and their leadership in managing marine and coastal resources through the concept of Community Seas <\/strong>\u2014 community-led marine protected areas that prioritize ecological sustainability and local knowledge. This includes both Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs)<\/strong> and Other Effective Conservation Measures (OECMs)<\/strong> beyond formal protected areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
