Senate Should Reject Jeff Sessions as Attorney General

In response to Donald Trump’s pick of Senator Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, Greenpeace USA Spokesperson Cassady Craighill said,

“We are now watching in horror as the worst of Trump’s campaign rhetoric comes to life. Senator Jeff Sessions, a man who has called the NAACP “un-American,” voted against basic civil rights for so many Americans, and defended Exxon’s destructive climate denial, is an imminent threat to this country. The Senate should reject his nomination as Attorney General, setting a precedent that people who use lawmaking as a tactic to actualize hate should be nowhere near the White House.”
