Koch Industries Climate Denial Front Group<\/span>

Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow, or CFACT Campus, is the university arm of the Committee for A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT). CFACT students purport to be pro-environment, operating under the slogan \u201ca smarter future for people\u2026and nature too!\u201d CFACT students paradoxically run small-scale environmentally themed events, such as beach clean ups<\/a>, while disrupting<\/a>\u00a0international climate negotiations, repeatedly<\/a> attacking<\/a> clean energy development and\u00a0promoting<\/a> the continued burning of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

Aligned with the views<\/a> of Paul Driessen<\/a>, a CFACT senior fellow and industry consultant who claims environmentalists are subjecting low-income Americans and the Global South to perpetual poverty,\u00a0 a CFACT Campus blog<\/a> falsely proclaims, “there is no scientific consensus though that global warming is man-caused or that more affordable energy methods such as nuclear, coal, and natural gas play a significant role in climate change.\u201d\u00a0 CFACT offered up a total $6,000 in prizes<\/a> to students willing to make YouTube videos denying the conclusions of climate science for AllPainNoGain.org, a CFACT website<\/a> hyping economic doom and government restrictions of personal freedom. There is no evidence of more than 4 videos<\/a> submitted to the contest, the top three of which were awarded $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.<\/p>\n

At CPAC 2011, CFACT Campus<\/a> students set up a booth allowing passersby to throw eggs<\/a> at pictures of former vice-president Al Gore and Michael Mann, both Nobel Peace Prize laureates for their work around climate science.<\/p>\n

A CFACT Campus “Eco-Summit<\/a>” featured speeches by career deniers, such as Marc Morano<\/a> of ClimateDepot, a project of parent-organization Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).<\/p>\n

CFACT has promoted the widely-discredited work of career skeptics like Christopher Monckton<\/a> and Dr. S. Fred Singer<\/a>, posting his speeches on YouTube<\/a> and bringing him to speak at campus events<\/a>. Alex Epstein of the Ayn Rand Institute is a frequent CFACT Campus collaborator who continually writes opinion pieces promoting fossil fuel use–see Koch Industries Climate Denial Front Group: Ayn Rand Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n
