WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 12, 2024)<\/strong><\/strong> — In response to the growing threat against free speech and peaceful protest, Greenpeace USA lit up Dallas, Houston, and Washington, D.C. with bold projections of resistance and solidarity onto iconic city locations. The projections come as the $300 million lawsuit<\/a> brought by Dallas-based Energy Transfer (ET) against Greenpeace USA<\/a> and Greenpeace International finally goes to trial. <\/p>\n\n

Rolf Skar, Greenpeace USA Campaigns Director, said: <\/strong>“This fight is bigger than Greenpeace. This lawsuit is a blatant attempt to silence critics and hide destructive practices. Standing up to corporate bullies like Energy Transfer requires courage, solidarity, and people power \u2013 things no courtroom or judgment can erase. These projections are a testament to that resilience, shining a light on the truth and reminding everyone fighting for a just and livable future that we will not back down.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The Energy Transfer case <\/strong>began<\/strong><\/a> in Mandan, North Dakota on February 24th. It\u2019s a classic example of a <\/strong>SLAPP lawsuit<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 <\/strong>not filed to rectify a legitimate grievance but to silence dissent and intimidate those fighting for climate justice. This lawsuit makes outrageous allegations<\/strong><\/a> that have far-reaching implications for organizations far beyond Greenpeace.
