Activists with Greenpeace USA join the picket line led by United Steelworkers (USW) Local 5 union members, expanding it from land into the San Francisco Bay. The picket line is set up in front of the Sea Hope on the Chevron dock. Nearly 500 workers from Chevron\u00d5s Richmond refinery have been on strike for over a month as they fight for a new labor contract from Chevron\u00d5s leadership.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Richmond, California\u00a0<\/b>\u2013 <\/span>This morning, activists with Greenpeace USA will join the picket line led by United Steelworkers (USW) Local 5 union members, expanding it from land into the San Francisco Bay. Nearly 500 workers from Chevron\u2019s Richmond refinery have been on strike<\/a> for over a month as they fight for a new labor contract from Chevron\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis a message to Chevron and corporations everywhere \u2013 when workers are battling executives for their fair share, Greenpeace USA will be standing alongside. Workers shouldn\u2019t have to go on strike to get a fair contract from greedy fossil fuel companies making record profits. They deserve to be heard.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019re out here floating with fossil fuel workers. The only way we can break these companies\u2019 stranglehold on our wallets, our communities, and the planet is by standing together in the call for a livable future.\u201d<\/p>\n
