25 years later"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"p4descriptive_paragraph\">In the early morning of 26 April 1986, a major nuclear accident occurred in reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl nuclear power station in Ukraine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The reactor\u2019s explosion and subsequent burning went down in history as the world\u2019s worst civilian nuclear accident to date.<\/p>\n<p>The consequences were felt across Europe \u2013 and persist even today, 25 years later.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;
