End Methane Gas Expansion and Stop CP2,” Greenpeace USA demanded through a series of projections across the National Mall. The projections cast a spotlight on a proposed new methane gas export project called CP2, an LNG facility located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The project is part of Venture Global\u2019s LNG expansion plans that could pose a threat to the climate and local communities and produce as much greenhouse gas emissions as 32 coal plants. This message was projected on the stone tower at the Eisenhower Memorial in Washington.

WASHINGTON, DC (February 12, 2026) <\/strong>\u2013 In response to today\u2019s announcement on the EPA revocation of the Clean Air Act Endangerment Finding on greenhouse gases, Tim Donaghy, Greenpeace USA Research Director, said:<\/strong> \u201cThe laws of physics don\u2019t care about Donald Trump. They don\u2019t care about his constant lies and they don\u2019t care about his insincere report full of cherry-picked data. Burning more fossil fuels will absolutely put Americans in greater danger \u2013 that\u2019s irrefutable. With today\u2019s announcement, Trump\u2019s EPA has utterly betrayed its mission to \u2018protect human health and the environment.\u2019<\/p>\n\n

\u201cMake no mistake, while this move may pad the pockets of Big Oil executives, it leaves the rest of us to pay the price. It will make us all sicker, increase our energy bills, deepen our dependence on risky and expensive fuels, slow the transition to a healthier economy, and push the planet to ever higher temperatures.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cIn the meantime, it falls to people, cities and states to pick up the slack. With the abdication of federal regulators, there is no longer any reason to shield fossil corporations from the consequences of their actions. The time has come to ensure that Big Oil polluters pay in full for the damages they have caused, and the decades of delay and deception they fostered.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cHope is not lost. We call on Congress to respond to this betrayal by passing climate legislation that is even stronger than what Trump is trying to destroy. We demand a bill that protects workers and communities while it shifts our economy away from dirty energy towards one that protects and restores the health of the planet, our common home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
