International Day of Climate Action

Page - November 23, 2009
This December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen to discuss the future of our climate, the future of our planet and generations to come. With each passing day that we pump more carbon into the atmosphere, we are signing up for a future of widespread droughts, wildfires, species extinction, and millions of lives in untold danger.

Shockingly, our world leaders are listening more to polluting industry lobbyists than to their voters. I cannot accept that our world leaders will sacrifice the livelihood of future generations just to make sure they get reelected. I am inspired because we still have time to do the right thing.

On October 24th, the Greenpeace Student Network is participating in the International Day of Climate Action! Student activists all across the country are hosting events on campus and in their communities. From marches on campus to rallies at coal plants, large photo ops, candle light vigils, and honk-and-waves, student activists are joining thousands of people calling for climate action! With over 1,600 actions planned in more than 130 countries across the world, this is a truly global event.

It is time for us to make our voices heard. Join the Greenpeace Student Network for the largest day of climate action in history!

and we will help you get started planning an awesome event!
