The Office Manager in San Francisco is dedicated to creating space for all Greenpeace activists to work and thrive under the principles of Greenpeace, which include environmental and social justice. The Office Manager coordinates building management and facilities-related issues, as well as vendor relations and hospitality.

This internship is a great opportunity for someone looking to break into non-profit administration, office management, and get his or her proverbial foot in the door at Greenpeace.

Responsibilities:

The Office Manager’s Intern’s duties will include:

  • Receptionist type work (signing for packages, letting people in, keeping the front area clean, welcoming visitors, delivering packages to staff, putting mail away)
  • Office up-keep (refilling conference items, the shredder bags, keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying out the compost bins, cleaning out the fridge, tidying the conference rooms, refilling bathroom tissue and towels, keeping the bathrooms tidy, etc.)
  • Allocating monies and working with vendors (postage, UPS, office supplies)
  • Other various administrative tasks

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • The ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person
  • A can-do attitude when it comes to doing things that may not be so glamorous
  • Computer skills including Excel, Internet research

  • Good memory and the ability to learn quickly and adapt accordingly
  • Problem solving skills
  • Organization
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
