Student Network - Operation Tiger Internship

The Greenpeace Student Network is an alliance of passionate student leaders fighting environmental crimes with grassroots power. Armed with top organizing tools, expert guidance, and an innovative student training system, the Student Network gives students the chance to be a real force in a global movement for change and adds local power to Greenpeace campaigns by engaging student activists at hundreds of campuses in priority campaign tactics. The Student Network uses online toolkits, conference calls, and one-on-one coaching to train and develop people into Greenpeace leaders.

Responsibilities

The Student Network - Operation Tiger Campaign intern will manage major pieces of our communications strategy, engage and mobilize Student Network activists, develop campaign materials, and work closely with Student Network staff to promote Operation Tiger, a Greenpeace Student Network campaign asking Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) to stop chopping down Indonesia's Paradise Rainforest. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Online social network management
  • Campaign development and implementation
  • Research
  • Contacting campuses about their purchasing decisions
  • Administrative support
  • Assisting with event planning
  • Writing blog entries
  • Writing and editing campaign materials
  • Direct activist engagement
  • Assisting with trainings for student activists

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Excel and Google tools

  • Commitment to non-violence as a means of affecting change
  • Commitment to protecting the planet and building a green and peaceful future
