Travel: Campaign Experience

Page - January 4, 2011
During the Greenpeace Semester, participants have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom to the Campaign Trip. Students spend time in class learning more about the campaign on which they will work and planning for the trip to make it successful.

The campaign trip is an opportunity for participants to see what it's really like to organize people to make a difference for the environment. Participants travel for one week in the summer to support a current Greenpeace campaign and work with people in different communities. There is no travel during the spring break program.

The skills learned and practiced during the travel include:

- public speaking

- recruiting and training volunteers

- teamwork

- creative issue communication (photo, video, social media)

- strategic event planning

The destination varies each Semester, depending on the priority work and where the program is most needed.  If you have any questions about the Greenpeace Semester campaign trip,
