The Swiftia pacifica, a species of soft coral, is pictured in this Greenpeace handout image. The top image was made on the deck of the Greenpeace support vessel Esperanza on August 9, 2005. The bottom image was made at a depth of approximately 1000 feet during undersea research of the Zhemchug Canyon in the Bering Sea on August 4, 2007. It is the first recorded discovery of the species in the Bering Sea.
