China has set up an ambitious non-fossil fuel target of 30% of electricity generation by the end of 2015, including major investments in solar power. China’s solar power capacity increased to 7 GW in 2012, and the country has a solar installation target of 21 GW by end of 2015. The growing renewable energy revolution in China is on pace to undercut the aggressive Chinese coal demand projections upon which U.S. export hopefuls are counting.
