Protests Outside Russian Embassies, Worldwide

Greenpeace activists have staged a number of peaceful demonstrations outside Russian Embassies around the world in support of the activists and crew aboard the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise, being held by Russian authorities.

This follows an attempt by five Greenpeace International activists to climb the 'Prirazlomnaya', an oil platform operated by Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom, in Russia's Pechora Sea. The activists were there to stop it from becoming the first to produce oil from the ice-filled waters of the Arctic.
