Washington, D.C.

In response to the announcement of the the Trump Administration’s intention to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in six months, Greenpeace USA’s Executive Director Annie Leonard said:

“Ending DACA is a cruel move by the Trump Administration to further criminalize immigrant communities and normalize white supremacy. It will cause a wrenching crisis in the lives and families of millions of our neighbors. To the Dreamers, their families, and all immigrants who make a home here: We see you, and we will defend you until there is a path to permanent protection for all.”

“We stand in solidarity with the fearless and inspiring young leaders, organizers, and activists risking so much right now to show us all what true courage looks like. We affirm that your work is our work. A green and peaceful world will never be possible when families fear being torn apart and people risk being ripped away from the only communities they have ever known.”
