Grassroots Organizing Internship (Portland)

Greenpeace's Grassroots Department is dedicated to empowering activists, developing leaders, and mobilizing people around the country to create change for a green and peaceful future. Greenpeace Field Organizers are based in several cities across the country, working with volunteers, building organizational power, securing relationships with influential allies, generating media coverage, and mobilizing grassroots support in their region.

The Grassroots Organizing intern will assist the Field Organizer with all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Phoning membership to recruit and manage volunteers
  • Conducting online research
  • Assisting in the development and distribution of educational materials
  • Assisting with skill trainings for volunteers
  • Assisting with planning press events
  • Attending meetings with local politicians
  • Assisting with planning rallies, marches, film screenings, and other events
  • Collecting petition signatures
  • Facilitating meetings
  • Data entry
  • Additional projects as needed
