New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman resigned after four women accused him of physical abuse

May 9, 2018

In response to the allegations from four different women that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman “subjected them to nonconsensual physical violence,” according to an investigation by The New Yorker, Greenpeace USA Executive Director Annie Leonard said,

“Greenpeace stands with the women who have courageously spoken up to bring these startling allegations of abuse against former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to light. The alleged violent behavior has no place in the movement for climate justice or our core mission to help build a green and peaceful future we’re working towards. We have faith that under Barbara Underwood’s leadership, New York state’s climate liability work will continue uninterrupted.”
