"For communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not enough to Build Back Better. We must Build Back Fossil Free."

No Keystone XL Pipeline NoKXL

This weekend, CNN reported that President-elect Joe Biden is expected to revoke the federal permits required for TransCanada to complete the Keystone XL pipeline as one of his day one executive orders on climate and energy.

In response, Greenpeace USA spokesperson Ryan Schleeter said:

“Voters have given Joe Biden a mandate for bold action on the climate crisis. Revoking federal permits for the Keystone XL pipeline on day one is a great start for the new administration. We hope to see Biden go further and stop other climate-wrecking pipelines like Line 3 and Dakota Access on day one, as well. For communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not enough to Build Back Better. We must Build Back Fossil Free.”
