In response to Donald Trump praising his environmental accomplishments, Lisa Ramsden, Greenpeace USA Climate Campaigner said:
“Despite whatever last minute lies to hoodwink Florida voters Trump trots out today, his environmental record remains a solid ‘F’ [1]. He touts his ‘environmental accomplishments’, but his policies have led to pollution and destruction at every turn. Whether it’s gutting the EPA, withdrawing from the Paris agreement, weakening the Clean Water Act, rolling back regulations on carbon emission standards for coal-fired power plants, or giving handouts to fossil fuel polluters, Trump’s agenda has put corporate profit ahead of public health and environmental justice since day one.
“His untruths are not only outrageous, they are dangerous as we are getting closer to an election in which people want to vote for a climate leader, not a climate destroyer. We deserve a world beyond fossil fuels: a world in which workers’ rights, community health, and our climate come before oil companies.Trump is out of touch, selling out America, and the world, for profit.”
