남태평양 - 연승 어구에서 구조되는 청상아리
그린피스 액티비스트들이 태평양에서 연승(긴 줄에 낚시 바늘을 매단 어구)에 걸린 청상아리를 구조하고 있습니다. 청상아리는 현재 세계자연보전연맹(IUCN)에 의해 '근위협(Near Threatened)' 종으로 분류되어 있습니다. 그린피스 호주·태평양 지부는 남태평양의 산업적 연승 낚시를 저지하기 위해 20km가 넘는 어구를 수거하고, 멸종 위기종인 청상아리를 포함해 총 9마리의 상아리를 구조했습니다.

Greenpeace climbers install a major new work by renowned artist Anish Kapoor titled BUTCHERED onto a Shell platform in the North Sea - the world’s first artwork to be installed at an active offshore gas site. After securing a giant 12m x 8m canvas to one side of the structure, the activists hoisted a high-pressure hose on top of the canvas at a height of 16 metres above the sea. They then pumped 1,000 litres of blood-red liquid that gushed into the fabric, creating a vast crimson stain. The work is a stark visualisation of the wound inflicted on both humanity and the Earth by the fossil fuel industry, evocative of our collective grief and pain at what has been lost, but also a cry for reparation. © Greenpeace — © Greenpeace

북해 - 가스 시추 시설에 설치된 예술 작품 '도살된(BUTCHERED)'
그린피스 클라이밍 액티비스트트들이 세계적인 예술가 아니쉬 카푸어(Anish Kapoor)의 신작 '도살된(BUTCHERED)'을 북해 쉘(Shell)사의 시추 시설에 설치했습니다. 이는 실제 가동 중인 해상 가스 시설에 설치된 세계 최초의 예술 작품입니다. 액티비스트들은 가로 12m, 세로 8m의 거대 캔버스를 시설 측면에 고정시킨 후, 해수면 16m 높이에서 고압 호스를 이용해 1,000리터의 붉은 액체를 쏟아부어 거대한 핏빛 얼룩을 만들었습니다. 이 작품은 화석연료 산업이 인류와 지구에 입힌 상처를 시각화한 것으로, 상실에 대한 슬픔과 함께 배상을 촉구하는 외침을 담고 있습니다.

인도네시아 - 어항에 놓인 장화들 "정의를 위한 발걸음"

세계 해양의 날을 맞아 그린피스 멕시코는 홀리 해변(Holi Beach)에서 대형 연 날리기 축제를 개최했습니다. 해양 생물 모양의 화려한 대형 연 17개가 "바다가 없으면 미래도 없습니다"라는 메시지와 함께 하늘을 수놓으며 바다의 소중함을 알렸습니다.

카메룬 - 원주민 공동체와 함께한 숲 문화
그린피스 아프리카는 카메룬 야운데에서 열린 '숲 문화제(세계 원주민의 날 기념행사)'에 참여했습니다. 이들은 지역 원주민 공동체의 환경 보호 노력을 배우고 문화를 공유하며 지속 가능한 미래를 논의했습니다. 그린피스는 원주민들이 조상 대대로 내려온 지식과 전통 방식을 통해 그들의 삶의 터전인 숲과 이탄지(Peatlands)를 어떻게 보호하고 있는지 기록했습니다.

There, Greenpeace activists from Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy paid a visit to the Nord Stream gas pipelines, which used to carry fossil gas from Russia to Europe. 러시아 - 화석 연료 퇴출을 외치는 아틱 선라이즈호
그린피스 '아틱 선라이즈'호가 유럽 화석 연료 퇴출 캠페인의 일환으로 발트해를 방문했습니다. 폴란드, 우크라이나, 독일, 벨기에, 네덜란드, 이탈리아 출신의 액티비스트들은 과거 러시아 가스를 유럽으로 운송하던 노르트스트림(Nord Stream) 가스관 부근을 찾아 시위를 벌였습니다. 그린피스 폴란드는 노르트스트림 가스관의 영구 폐쇄와 2027년까지 러시아산 화석 연료 퇴출, 그리고 늦어도 2035년까지 유럽 연합 전체에서 가스 사용을 완전히 중단할 것을 요구했습니다.

The Rainbow Warrior, Greenpeace’s flagship that for decades has carried a message of defending life to every corner of the planet, is in Cartagena, Colombia, reminding us that the Amazon is not negotiable: it is respected and defended. During its passage through Colombia, on the way to COP30 to be held in Belém, Brazil, it reminded us of the urgency of stopping deforestation, protecting biodiversity and guaranteeing fair financing for indigenous peoples and local communities, who have cared for the forests for generations. 콜롬비아 - 레인보우 워리어호가 전하는 아마존 보호 메시지
수십 년간 전 세계에 생명 보호의 메시지를 전해온 그린피스의 대표 선박 '레인보우 워리어'호가 콜롬비아 카르타헤나에 입항했습니다. 아마존은 협상의 대상이 아니라 존중받고 보호받아야 할 대상임을 상기시키기 위해서입니다. 브라질 벨렝에서 열릴 제30차 유엔기후변화협약 당사국총회(COP30)로 향하는 길에 콜롬비아를 거치며, 산림 파괴 중단과 생물 다양성 보호, 그리고 수 세대 동안 숲을 지켜온 원주민과 지역 사회에 대한 공정한 재정적 지원의 시급함을 강조했습니다.

독일 - 지속 가능한 농업을 위한 행진
독일 베를린에서 열린 연례 "이제 충분하다!(We have had enough!)" 행진에 그린피스 액티비스트와 자원봉사자들이 참여했습니다. 참가자들은은 지속 가능한 농업을 요구하며 돼지와 소 모양의 대형 풍선, 현수막, 피켓을 들고 거리로 나섰습니다.

Ahead of a federal election, Greenpeace Canada’s activists projected powerful messages on the world famous Niagara Falls: “Don’t Trump Canada”, “Elbows up” and “RESIST”. Greenpeace Canada is calling out politicians like Trump and Poilievre for spreading fear and division, while polluting industries like oil & gas seek to take advantage of a crisis they helped create. Greenpeace Canada is asking Poilievre and all political parties to protect people and the environment, not polluters and billionaires. 뉴질랜드 - 오클랜드로 돌아 레인보우 워리어의 역사적 순간

말레이시아 - 심해 채굴 반대 액션
말레이시아 여배우 샤리파 소피아(Sharifah Sofia)가 라부안 인근 해상에 정박 중인 심해 채굴선 '히든 젬'호 앞에서 "심해 채굴 중단" 현수막을 들고 있습니다. 히든 젬호는 심해 채굴 업계의 대표 선박으로, 현재 말레이시아에 장기 보관 중입니다. 채굴 기업인 더 메탈스 컴퍼니(TMC)는 지난 4월 말, 미국 정부에 사상 첫 상업적 채굴 허가 신청서를 제출하며 활동을 시작할 준비가 되었음을 밝혔습니다.

영국 런던에서 열린 "에너지 안보 미래 정상회의" 행사장 앞에 수백 명의 시민들이 모였습니다. 영국 정부와 국제에너지기구(IEA)가 공동 주최한 이번 회의에는 화석 연료를 옹호하는 트럼프 행정부 관계자들이 참석했습니다. 시위대는 논란이 되고 있는 로즈뱅크(Rosebank) 유전 개발을 포함해 영국 해역 내 신규 시추 중단과 화석 연료 산업 종사자들을 위한 정의로운 전환 계획 마련을 요구했습니다.
