Financial Report
Greenpeace Japan’s financial report for the fiscal year 2024 (January – December) was prepared in accordance with the auditing standards generally accepted in Japan (J-GAAS) and audited by the SCS Global LLC Accounting & Auditing Firm. We continued to receive both staffing and financial support from Greenpeace East Asia, Greenpeace International, and donations from individual supporters and private foundations. These invaluable contributions enabled us to act as an independent campaigning organization, highlighting global environmental issues in areas such as climate change, energy and plastics.
In 2024, the grant we received from Greenpeace East Asia was 22% more than the average over the past 3 years, and helped us to balance our income and expenditure. Greenpeace Japan’s income from donations was 14% less than last year. Our total income for 2024 was 517.07 million yen. Our expenditure was 15% more than last year, at a total of 517.07 million yen.
Greenpeace accepts no corporate or government donations in order to maintain an independent voice. This means we rely on individual supporters and private foundations to fund our work. In 2024, thanks to your support, we were able to investigate, campaign, document, lobby and provide information to members of the media and the public in order to protect our precious planet and find solutions to the most critical environmental issues. We sincerely thank everyone who has supported our activities.

As Greenpeace’s work to protect the environment grows every year, so does our team. Due to this expansion, we have moved offices as of August 1, 2023. We will continue to work as an “NGO of action” using a bottom-up approach and rigorous scientific solutions from our new office and we are grateful for your continued support. Our telephone number and fax numbers have also changed following our move.
