OVERALL PURPOSE

The Community Manager is responsible for fostering a vibrant, informed, and engaged online community in support of Greenpeace MENA’s mission. This role plays a key part in deepening relationships with followers and supporters, amplifying the organization’s voice across digital platforms, and encouraging active participation in environmental and social justice campaigns. The post holder serves as a bridge between the organization and its audience, listening, responding, and mobilizing engagement, while ensuring that all interactions reflect the organization’s values of transparency, inclusivity, and non-violent activism.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Engagement: Actively monitor and engage with our online community across various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, WhatsApp, email, website, etc).

Audience Support: Respond to direct messages, emails, comments, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner while maintaining a positive brand voice.

Content Creation & Curation: Coordinate and schedule social media posts, ensuring alignment with the content calendar and timely publication.

Reporting & Analytics: Assist in tracking key metrics (engagement rates, community growth, etc.) and reporting on social media performance.

Collaboration: Work closely with the digital and content teams to ensure alignment with brand goals and messaging.

Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices, and share new ideas with the team

Support Data Enrichment Efforts: Collaborate with the data working group to regularly verify and maintain accurate records of supporters’ contact details (email, phone number, etc.) to remove outdated or incorrect contact information and ensure seamless communication. Suggest approaches to communication with the supporters based on the available data.

Drive Website Engagement: Support developing strategies to increase audience interaction and activity on the website, and collaborate with the data team to collect user feedback to improve website content and to monitor data, including website engagement metrics, to assess the success of outreach and communication campaigns.

Engagement Initiatives: Collaborate with the team on strategies to boost supporter engagement and participation to increase the number of active supporters and the conversion rates.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Marketing, Communications, or any other related field

Experience & Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or community management. Knowledge of Trello and other digital tools is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the Arabic and English languages
  • Strong written Arabic communication skills with an ability to maintain a consistent brand voice
  • A deep understanding of social media platforms and how they function
  • A strong interest in social media trends and digital culture.
  • Organized with good attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Personal Traits: Friendly, approachable, and able to foster positive relationships with an online community.
