
Freelance HR Support – Greenpeace MENA
Contract Type: Service Agreement (Full-time, 40 hours/week, 2 months, potential renewal)
Location: Fully Remote – MENA Region
Scope
Greenpeace MENA is seeking a freelance HR Support professional to deliver day-to-day HR operations, recruitment assistance, and the development and standardization of HR governance documents (policies, procedures, and SOPs), ensuring compliance and operational clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR support to the P&C Manager, including administrative tasks and general HR coordination
- Assist with recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, posting job ads, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and supporting the selection process
- Review, draft, revise, and finalize HR policies, procedures, and SOPs in English, identifying gaps or outdated content and ensuring alignment with MENA labor laws and organizational strategy.
- Benchmark HR documents against NGO/INGO best practices and regional standards
- Facilitate feedback sessions with internal stakeholders and incorporate their feedback into final documents
- Deliver finalized HR governance documents in agreed formats, including standardized templates and brief guidance notes for implementation and ongoing use
- Maintain flexibility to respond to evolving organizational priorities and ad hoc HR tasks, ensuring timely completion of HR outputs
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate degree in HR Management, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of practical HR experience, including policy/SOP development
- Experience with NGOs/INGOs or similar organizations is a plus
- Strong understanding of HR governance, operational systems, and personnel administration
- Familiarity with MENA labor laws preferred
- Accurate, proactive, people-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure
- Knowledge of cultural and market differences across MENA countries
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Arabic
