Fireflies Lab is a community and capacity-building initiative by Greenpeace South Asia. It brings together young changemakers and active citizens who care about climate, and helps them learn the skills to create positive change in their communities.

The Lab is a space to learn, collaborate, experiment, and grow. It supports young people to build confidence, find community, and develop skills that strengthen both their journey as responsible citizens and their future career pathways — especially in communication, creativity, climate, and social impact.

WHAT THE
LAB OFFERS

Fireflies Lab is currently offering a three-month online learning experience designed for young people(18 years and above) who want to understand climate issues, build storytelling and digital skills, and grow as confident communicators.

This learning journey combines:

  • Interactive online sessions
  • Hands-on storytelling and digital creation practice
  • Guidance from Greenpeace campaigners
  • Real project work linked to live campaigns
  • A supportive peer community across South Asia
  • Portfolio-building opportunities

PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
THE THREE MODULES

Fireflies Lab is organised into three modules, you can choose to do the whole course, or specific individual modules.

CLIMATE JUSTICE &
CAMPAIGNING

Understand climate issues through a justice lens, learn how people-powered campaigns work, and explore how stories shape public awareness and action.

BUILDING IMPACTFUL
CLIMATE STORIES

Learn how to craft human-centred climate stories, build narratives that move people, and communicate climate ideas with clarity and impact.

DIGITAL TOOLS FOR
STORYTELLING & MOBILISATION

Get hands-on practice with accessible digital tools for photography, video, and design. Learn how to create and publish content safely, ethically, and effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

By the end of the Fireflies Lab, you will be able to:

  • understand climate issues through a justice lens,
  • craft powerful climate stories,
  • use digital tools to create and amplify content,
  • contribute to people-powered campaigns,
  • work on real Greenpeace projects,
  • build a storytelling portfolio, and
  • connect with a community of peers, creators, and campaigners.

PROGRAM CONTRIBUTION

Fireflies Lab is offered by Greenpeace South Asia as a non-profit learning and community initiative. Contributions towards the course support Greenpeace South Asia’s climate campaigns and work with communities towards equitable and just transitions. You will be invited to make a contribution only if and after you are selected based on your application to the Fireflies Lab.

CONTRIBUTION STRUCTURE

  • Full Program (3 modules): ₹7,500
  • Individual Module: ₹3,000
  • Discounted Full Program: ₹6,000
  • Discounted Individual Module: ₹2,500

Discounted contribution rates may be available for participants applying through partner colleges, organisations, or with a valid referral code.

How your contribution is used?

Greenpeace South Asia is a non-profit organisation working to advance climate resilience and environmental justice. All contributions towards this course directly support Greenpeace South Asia’s efforts to strengthen climate campaigns and work with vulnerable communities towards equitable and just transitions.

Note: Participation in the Fireflies Lab program is confirmed upon completion of the contribution process. Limited seats are available, as the program is designed to support a small, engaged learning cohort.
