Overview Youth and Volunteer Program

The Youth and Volunteer Program is designed to empower young individuals to actively engage in their communities through meaningful volunteerism. This initiative provides opportunities for youth to develop skills, cultivate leadership qualities, and foster a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Participants can take part in various activities, including community service projects and events that address local issues. The program encourages collaboration with mentors and community leaders, enhancing personal and professional growth.

By promoting a culture of volunteerism, the Youth and Volunteer Program aims to instill a lifelong commitment to service, creating a socially responsible generation dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities.

Duration:

The internship will be for 6 months with a possibility of renewal depending on availability of funds.

Purpose and Objective 

The intern will support the Youth and Volunteers Program in executing various projects and daily tasks, contributing to the overall goals of the organization while gaining practical experience in the Climate Advocacy and campaigning organisation.

To provide the intern with hands-on experience in youth and volunteer mobilisation 

To assist the team in achieving to enhance young people’s confidence, participation and involvement in climate and environmental justice in order to make them responsible citizens, to put leaders to account, to build a regional/international network of youth and young adults in order to influence policy issues. 

To develop the intern’s skills in Climate Justice and Volunteer support including retention.

 Scope of Work:

 The intern will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

– Ensure that events run smoothly by managing logistics, resources, and schedules.

– Address any concerns or challenges faced by youth, offering support as needed.

– Support the development of project proposals or reports.

– Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.

– Help in organizing events or workshops.

– Perform administrative tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

Experience in youth engagement and movements, community development or advocacy 

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to have:

– Gained practical experience in mobisation and youth management.

– Developed skills in Climate Justice.

– Understood the operations of the Youth and Volunteer Program.

– Build a professional network within the organization.

Supervision and Support:

The intern will receive guidance and feedback from their supervisor throughout the internship. Regular check-ins will be conducted to discuss progress and areas for improvement.

Confidentiality:

The intern will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect sensitive information related to the organization’s operations.

 Evaluation Process:

The intern’s performance will be reviewed at the midpoint and conclusion of the internship period. Feedback will be provided based on the completion of assigned tasks, initiative, and overall contribution to the team.
