Centre African Science in Climate Decision-Making at COP30
The science is clear. Africa is heating rapidly, our ecosystems are under strain, and millions of lives are at risk. But science also shows the path forward: community-driven innovation, renewable energy, and protection of critical ecosystems like the Congo Basin.
As COP30 approaches, we need your voice. We will deliver an open letter in person to the Africa Delegation at COP30, representing scientists, civil society, and public figures, demanding climate action grounded in evidence and justice.
Our key calls are:
- Protect Our Forests: End fossil fuel and extractive projects in the Congo Basin. Fund Indigenous and community-led solutions rooted in ecosystem science, not carbon offset loopholes.
- Ensure a Just Transition: Deliver grant-based finance for renewable energy, centred on equity, access, and scientific evidence.
- Make Polluters Pay: Establish a transparent, non-debt climate finance goal and hold fossil fuel corporations accountable for climate damages.
Africa is not only on the frontlines of climate change, we are at the forefront of climate solutions.
Add your name and stand with us for climate justice, scientific integrity, and action.
Together we can make a difference
