Water is life. Without it we simply can’t survive.
In New Zealand, swimming in rivers, gathering freshwater kai and drinking pure water is our way of life.
Yet, here and abroad our freshwater is being increasingly polluted by industry, and our rivers and lakes are dying.
In ‘100% Pure’ New Zealand, 70% of our rivers are so polluted you can’t swim in them. Three quarters of our native freshwater fish are threatened with extinction and in some areas the drinking water is so polluted it’s unsafe for us to drink.
We must protect our precious freshwater from the threats of industrial agriculture, big irrigation schemes and toxins.
