SAWT: Your Donation Keeps People-Powered Solutions Growing Across MENA.
Across the Middle East and North Africa, people are coming together to protect their communities, stand up for environmental justice, and build locally led solutions for a greener, healthier, and more just future.
SAWT has helped raise their voice since 2022. Now you can help someone else take action.
Every campaign starts with an idea, an environmental solution that is 100% locally led.
Your donation helps keep the SAWT platform free, independent, and accessible, giving more people the tools and space they need to turn their ideas into collective action.

More than 66K Supporters of SAWT in the MENA are looking for locally led environmental solutions.
SAWT is where those voices become action.
SAWT platform is a solution-oriented platform by Greenpeace MENA, powered by people, communities, local organisations, and grassroots movements across the Middle East and North Africa who believe in a greener, healthier, and more just future. It’s a home for 66K+ SAWT supporters who rely on SAWT to raise their voices, create environmental initiatives, mobilise supporters, raise awareness, push on the issues that matter most to them with locally-led solutions, from water and food sovereignty to clean air, and create real environmental impact.

SAWT Communities who turned ideas into action
Iraq: More than 13,000 people have supported community action in Basra calling for the application of the “polluter pays” principle, keeping the issue on the public agenda, including through calls for legal reforms.
Morocco: More than 10,000 people support the “Kenitra is Suffocating” community initiative for clean air, while the platform supports local community demands through reports grounded in data and evidence.
Tunisia: More than 6,300 people have stood alongside a grassroots movement calling for action to address worsening water scarcity and advance water justice. The movement developed a policy paper with practical recommendations and submitted it to the relevant authorities, turning community demands into concrete policy proposals.
From a Local Voice to Action: [Falah Alamiri] Story from Basra
“I never thought a single voice could travel this far. What began as a story on the Sawt platform has become a real step toward environmental justice in Basra. Because people signed, shared, and believed that community voices can drive real impact, our solution didn’t just echo; it moved something.
But this is not the end of the story. We still need to see the ‘polluter pays’ principle become a practice. And ours is only one of many communities across the region walking this same path.
Stand with us. Your support keeps the SAWT platform carrying our voices forward.”
