This position is offered on a 12 month fixed term full time contract basis initially, with possibility of extension 

Location: The position is hybrid (home-office). We offer competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with candidates before reaching the offer stage.

Greenpeace South Asia is a newly established regional office which is at the initial stage of development with an interesting portfolio of the countries. We are looking for a candidate who can develop strong public campaigns to promote greener, safer and more inclusive societies in South Asia together with millions of people we engage to act alongside us.  This role provides leadership to a large area of Programme activities in Greenpeace South Asia (GPSA) and plays an active role in contributing to the priorities and direction of GPSA’s engagement work in relevant markets where we operate.

Whom we’re looking for:

The Sr. Grant and Partnership Specialist at Greenpeace South Asia plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by leading strategic fundraising efforts and cultivating impactful partnerships. This position is responsible for securing and managing institutional funding, ensuring alignment with Greenpeace’s environmental justice and climate action goals. 

Hence the individuals shall commit to Greenpeace’s values of direct action, non-violence, internationalism, and independence, and a determination to protect the natural world.  We believe people gain seniority and expertise on the job, what really matters is the soft skills and openness to learn and work collaboratively with the team. Therefore, someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:

In this role you will:

  • Identify Funding Opportunities: Research potential grant-making foundations and organizations aligned with the campaign’s mission and objectives.
  • Database Management: Maintain an up-to-date database of funding opportunities, deadlines, and relevant contacts.
  • Draft Proposals: Write persuasive and tailored grant proposals that align the organization’s goals with funders’ priorities.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with program, finance, and communications teams to gather relevant data and program details for proposals.
  • Prepare Budgets: Develop grant budgets in collaboration with financial staff, ensuring they meet funders’ requirements.
  • Ensure Timely Submission: Manage timelines to meet all grant deadlines.
  • Maintain Relationships with Funders: Act as the primary point of contact for foundations, responding to inquiries and providing updates on funded projects.
  • Cultivate New Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with new and existing funders to secure ongoing support.
  • Oversee Grant Implementation: Ensure grants are executed according to funders’ guidelines and organizational capacity.
  • Monitor and Report on Progress: Track project milestones, expenditure, and outcomes to prepare regular reports for funders.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all legal and contractual obligations tied to grant funding.
  • Support Organizational Strategy: Align fundraising efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Input into Campaign Plans: Work with campaign teams to identify funding needs and develop strategies to secure resources.
