Leave a legacy
The story of Greenpeace Malaysia is one of hope. It is the story of the remarkable impact ordinary people have in the world when they stand together to protect and uphold what is most precious – the health of our shared planet and the life that exists on it, in all its forms.

Leaving a gift in your Will to Greenpeace Malaysia is a way to put your beliefs into action long after your lifetime. Any gift, large or small, will help our shared work to create a more green and peaceful future.
Together, we have already achieved so much. We’ve stood up for Malaysians’ right to clean air. We are demanding a Global Plastic Treaty that will keep oil and gas used to produce plastic in the ground and put an end to big polluters’ relentless plastic production.
There is still so much to do to defend our oceans, protect rainforests, and promote renewable energy. Leaving a legacy, large or small, will help our work. Greenpeace never accepts money from governments or corporations, it’s this fierce independence that means we will use your legacy gift to hold those whose policies or actions pose grave environmental threats to account and advocate for the solutions our planet urgently needs whenever and wherever it’s needed most.
A gift in your Will to Greenpeace Malaysia is a gift that will help take care of our oceans, our land and our people for years to come – it is your unique contribution to looking after the planet for many future generations to come.

Types of Legacy Gift

A percentage
This is often regarded as the most flexible way to give as you don’t have to adjust the value of your gift to account for inflation, or changes to your total assets. It can be a percentage of your whole estate or of you residue (residual gift).

A residual gift
This is a gift of whatever is left in your Estate after you have taken care of your loved ones. A residual estate is the portion of your estate that remains after specific gifts and requests have been made and all estate claims have been satisfied. A lot of our supporters decided to leave the whole or a percentage of the residue of their estate to Greenpeace.

A fixed amount
Leaving a specific sum; this type of bequest may need to be changed over the years to account for inflation and changes to your circumstances.
