Greenpeace runs campaigns to address pressing environmental issues like climate change and justice, deforestation, pollution, renewable energy. Through advocacy, research and investigations, and grassroots organising, we raise awareness, push for policy changes, and hold governments and corporations accountable for their environmental impact.

Other than that, we draw attention to environmental issues and pressure decision-makers to make action with direct action tactics (e.g., peaceful protests and creative stunts).

Campaigns & Activities

How do Greenpeace’s campaigns protect the environment?

Greenpeace campaigns create change by combining scientific research, public awareness, and people power. We investigate environmental problems, expose those responsible, and pressure governments and corporations to take action.

What issues does Greenpeace Malaysia work on?

We focus on the biggest environmental challenges affecting our planet and communities, including environmental justice, clean air rights, forest protection, clean energy, and reducing plastic pollution. Our campaigns aim to hold polluters accountable, push for stronger environmental policies, and inspire people to take action for a greener, fairer future.

Take Action
Does Greenpeace organize protests?

Greenpeace is known for its peaceful, non-violent activism. When we take action, it’s always to raise awareness, hold decision-makers accountable, and stand up for environmental justice, never to cause harm or damage.

What is your donation cancellation policy?

While we appreciate your commitment to supporting Greenpeace Malaysia on an ongoing basis, we also understand when you need a little break to sort things out for yourself.

We are committed to providing exceptional service for our supporters in a timely manner. Hence, we appreciate advance notice to ensure the quality of our communications with you will be maintained at its best!

Greenpeace Malaysia developed a donation cancellation policy as part of our commitment to honouring and respecting the termination of financial contributions towards the organisation.

In the event of a cancellation of an ongoing donation to Greenpeace Malaysia, we appreciate that donors:

– Submit a cancellation request via email or phone call.
– Furnish us with adequate information on your donation details
– Allow 5 working days to process the cancellation request

We are contactable via email at [email protected] or call us at +603 2276 2022. Our Supporter Care Officer is happy to help you with your concerns/requests.

We encourage you to write to us before your next deduction to avoid any deduction (for the upcoming month) within the 5 working days of processing your request to cancel.

While we are happy to serve you, losing you isn’t our favourite part. If you find the current donation amount a little too high, our Supporter Care team may suggest you settle for a lower amount. Please feel free to let us know if you are comfortable with a specific donation amount that would aid our current and upcoming campaigns.

What is your donation refund policy?

Greenpeace Malaysia developed a donation refund policy as part of our commitment to honouring and respecting the financial contributions that people make to us. We recognise the importance of donations and want to ensure we establish appropriate principles of transparency and fairness with regard to the management of refunds.

We, however, recognise that it is possible to make an error when making an online donation or for donors who signed up with our face-to-face ambassadors. It can also occur that an error is made by our payment gateway. We expect anyone wishing to donate to consider their decision carefully and check donation amounts during transactions. This includes all donation methods and channels through which donors are being approached.

Under this policy, Greenpeace Malaysia will endeavour to refund donations per the following:

1. If an error is made when making a donation or if the donor changes their mind, we will honour all requests for refunds made in writing within 15 (fifteen) days of the date the donation was made.

2. The written refund request should include the details of the initial transaction including the date, donation amount, donor’s name, IC number, and the nature of the error.

3. All written requests for refunds can be sent by email to [email protected] or mailed to Level 5-3A, Menara Sentral Vista, 150, Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, 50470.

4. We will fully examine all requests for refund and endeavour to ensure that genuine errors are rectified. However, after 15 days, Greenpeace Malaysia is not obligated to give refunds, and the decision will be at the organisation’s discretion.

5. Refunds will be returned using the original payment method—for example, if a donation has been made by credit card, Greenpeace Malaysia will credit the refund to that same credit card.

6. If Greenpeace Malaysia or our financial institution(s) makes an error, Greenpeace Malaysia will refund the full amount once notified of the error in writing.

Fundraising

How does Greenpeace fundraise?

Like most Malaysian charities, we raise funds in many different ways, including:

-Face-to-face fundraising.
-Telephone fundraising.
-Direct mail,
-Web and social media.

In these places, and through our fundraising, we share the story of our campaigns, how we are working to defend the natural world – and how, together with people, we can protect and defend this beautiful planet.

Why does Greenpeace do face-to-face fundraising?

Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most effective and personal ways for Greenpeace Malaysia to build long-term support. By speaking directly with people in public places, our fundraisers can explain our campaigns, answer questions, and invite supporters to make a lasting impact through regular donations.

This method also helps us stay independent. We do not accept money from governments or corporations, so we rely entirely on individual supporters to fund our work. Meeting people in person allows us to connect with new supporters who share our vision for a green and peaceful future.

Why does Greenpeace do telephone fundraising?

Telephone fundraising allows us to connect personally with our existing and potential supporters across the country. It’s an effective way to share updates about our campaigns, answer questions, and invite people to support Greenpeace Malaysiathrough regular donations.

We engage reputable telephone fundraising agencies to conduct calls on our behalf, and through stringent monitoring, we ensure adherence to the highest standards and fundraising regulations.

Should you prefer not to receive telephone calls from Greenpeace Malaysia, opting out is hassle-free. You can do so anytime by contacting our Supporter Care team at +603-22762022 (available 5 days a week, from 9 am to 6 pm) or via email at [email protected].

How will I know if a legitimate fundraiser of Greenpeace Malaysia is approaching me?

Fundraisers representing Greenpeace Malaysia will be attired in uniforms – a T-shirt which has the Greenpeace logo on it.

They will also carry identification cards displaying their name, photo, and details of the fundraising organisation they’re affiliated with. If there are doubts regarding the legitimacy of a fundraiser, individuals are encouraged to request contacting the fundraising organization directly or reach out to Greenpeace Malaysia’s Supporter Care Team at +603 2276 2022 (available Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm.

It’s important to note that our fundraisers will not request or accept cash donations. Instead, they will seek support through recurring card payments or direct debit. Should a fundraiser request cash, individuals are advised to decline and promptly report the incident by calling +603 2276 2022 , as this would not be an authentic Greenpeace Malaysia fundraiser.

Our fundraisers are engaged to represent us from 9am to 9pm, Monday through Saturday, and from 10am to 9pm on Sundays. If you encounter fundraisers contacting you outside of these hours, please inform our Supporter Care Team at +603-22762022. They are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm.
