Become a Volunteer

We’re looking for passionate people to support real environmental change. Whether you’re helping at events, mobilising your community, or sharing online, every action counts.

What You Can Do

General Campaign Support

Join us on the frontlines of action. From collecting signatures, assisting with events, or supporting peaceful direct actions, you’ll work closely with our teams to bring campaigns to life.

Digital Activism

Use your skills and voice online to support change. Create content, share stories, and help mobilize a digital community that stands up for people and the planet. All from wherever you are.

How It Works

Whether you’re here to support behind the scenes or take part in peaceful direct actions, here’s how to get started:

1. Sign Up

Fill in our general volunteer form whether you’re interested in helping out occasionally or joining a specific program, this is your first step.

2. Attend Orientation

Join our orientation to kickstart your journey and learn more about Greenpeace Malaysia, our values, and all the ways you can take part, both online and on-ground.

3. Choose Your Path

After orientation, you can express interest in the current projects we have. There will be follow up for those keen to dive deeper. Or try all of the available projects!

4. Start Volunteering

Start volunteering based on current available projects. And if you’re interested in more advanced actions, we will provide training, starting with a Non-Violence Training.

Before applying

Got questions before you dive in?
We’ve got you covered. You can also reach out to [email protected]  if you have more questions.

Do I need any prior experience to volunteer?

Not at all! Everyone is welcome — whether you’re just starting out or have been part of activism or environmental work before. No special skills needed, we’ll guide you based on your interests and availability.

What’s the difference between general and program volunteering?

General volunteering involves one-off support like events, outreach, or logistics.

Program volunteering means a deeper involvement in a specific campaign or program — it includes extra briefings and tasks.

What’s the time commitment like?

Totally flexible! Some activities are short-term, while others involve more ongoing engagement. You can decide how much you want to be involved.

How will I know what to do after I sign up?

You’ll receive a welcome email and another email later on with orientation dates. All volunteers start with a general orientation. If you’re interested in deeper involvement, you’ll be invited to a program briefing after that.

Can I invite others to volunteer too?

Definitely. Share the sign-up link with your friends, family, classmates, or colleagues. Change is stronger when it’s collective.

Is volunteering paid?

No, volunteering with Greenpeace is unpaid. But some activities may offer meals, transport support, or tokens of appreciation.

Will I get training or support?

Yes. Orientations, briefings, and campaign updates are all part of the experience. We’ll also offer trainings. You’ll have a coordinator to guide you.
