There is an integrated interrelationship between preserving the environment and ensuring social and economic justice in the Arab world. The current economic system prioritizes profit over our health and environment. In light of the climate threats around the world, our region must look towards a “paradigm shift” that guarantees justice for all its societies, especially the marginalized groups. Green recovery models are essential to environmental sustainability to counteract extreme consumption patterns that exploit nature and are rapidly bringing us closer to climate disasters.
