Who we are
Greenpeace as an environmental movement in Sri Lanka & South Asia
Greenpeace South Asia, rooted with its regional office in Colombo, works in the frontlines to safeguard Sri Lanka’s rich marine biodiversity, fragile ecosystems, and local communities from the disproportionate impacts of the climate crisis. Our campaigns focus on climate justice, reimagining better cities, plastic reduction, and robust protections for the Indian Ocean. We work hand-in-hand with local fishers, farmers, youth, and the civil society to build a sustainable and resilient future for the island home.
Our local campaigns in Sri Lanka are part of a wider international movement made up of 26 independent national and regional Greenpeace organisations, supported and coordinated globally by Greenpeace International, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

“ஆலோசனையிலிருந்து சம்மதம் வரை: இலங்கையின் கடல்சார் மற்றும் கரையோர நிர்வாகத்தில் சமூகங்களின் குரல்கள்” என்ற இந்த ஆவணம், நீர்கொழும்பு, ரேகவ, வாகரை, கற்பிட்டி மற்றும் விடத்தல்தீவு ஆகிய பகுதிகளைச் சேர்ந்த சமூகங்களின் அனுபவங்களை பதிவு செய்வதுடன், வடக்கின் மன்னார் பகுதியை சேர்ந்த 186 மீனவ சமூகத்தினரிடம் நடத்தப்பட்ட கருத்துக்கணிப்பையும் உள்ளடக்கியுள்ளது.
