The Problem

The ocean is like a network of smaller ecosystems that rely on each other for their proper functioning. From the biggest blue whale to the smallest krill, everything works in perfect balance. When you destroy one ecosystem of the ocean, all parts suffer. For years industrial fishing fleets have been indiscriminately emptying the ocean of its wildlife and destroying its ecosystems. This has left the ocean in imbalance, and is affecting all life in our oceans.

The Solution

We are working to build Ocean Sanctuaries around the world. This would mean no industrial activities like devastating mining, drilling or fishing in our oceans. Leaving safe spaces for marine life and providing areas in which the ocean can replenish and rebalance.

Africa’s and the world's oceans need protection. The ocean is teeming with wildlife like emperor penguins, giant blue whales, sharks and dolphins. But, this beautiful habitat is under extreme threat from overfishing and a changing climate. There is hope, we are working to build an ocean sanctuary.
