Greenpeace’s updated analysis of a full year of TROPOMI NO2 satellite data and other scientific datasets confirms that the coal-fired power plant and industrial cluster in Mpumalanga is the world’s worst hotspot for power plant NO2 and SO2 emissions, and overall ranks 4th for NO2 and 3rd for SO2 emissions in the world. It is the only place in the world that ranks among the top five for both of these dangerous pollutants. The finding is corroborated by analyses by NASA, Netherlands meteorological institute KNMI and Eskom’s own published emissions data.

fossil fuels and Coal are dangerous and we have to shut all that down and replace it with clean renewable energy because it won't just kill wildlife, it will also kill us humans which is why we must stop killing everything
forget the fossil fuels, this is not the future! find something else, something good, we are nation builders lets show the world how to!
The industrial revolution in the Northern Hemisphere countries started well over 100 years ahead of the Southern Hemisphere, funded in part by the rape of the Southern Hemisphere countries. They were therefore over 100 years ahead in polluting the atmosphere. In addition, because of their land masses, they rely on trees and other land plant growth, which are dormant for much of the year and therefore not very successful at it, to remove the extra CO2 that they produce. In contrast, the Southern Hemisphere consists mainly of oceans full of phytoplanktons and other plant growth that work year round to remove CO2 and release oxygen back into the atmosphere. The Northern Hemisphere countries therefore have a moral duty to reduce their emissions at least several decades ahead of the countries in the Southern Hemisphere. Please leave us alone for a while - at least until we can afford it!
And how many deaths per year because of nuclear power plants? Maybe it would be a good idea to fight against coal power plants before nuclear power plants... just sayin'
Well, get started, and when you have all the green energy that doesn't need oil all figured out, manufactured, people trained and costs affordable, let us know and we will pull the plug on the oil and gas. You aren't using anything now that requires oil, right? By the way, you don't think God isn't in control? He's going to torch this world in the end, and the only thing that will matter, ever, is, do you believe in him? It isn't going to be about oil or green energy. It's going to be about your soul and mine. He is going to create a new heaven and a new earth, and will dwell among His children.
Hi Thank you for your comment. Please be kind in your interactions. We have shared green alternative solutions with African governments to switch to sustainable energy. With billions invested in fossils fuels, the same funds can be used to invest in renewable energy sources that will benefit the communities and the environment.
