Washington, DC, USA, December 6, 2022 – In response to PepsiCo’s announcement that aims to deliver 20% of its drinks in reusable packaging by 2030, Greenpeace USA Plastics Project Lead Kate Melges said:

“As one of the top global plastic polluters, PepsiCo’s announcement is a small step to tackle the plastic and climate crisis. As a company that uses more than five billion pounds of plastic in its packaging each year, we need PepsiCo to do more to end its reliance on big oil and shift away from single-use plastics. PepsiCo failed to seize the moment to set a higher target than their rival Coca-Cola and commit to 50% reuse by 2030. Big brands need to embrace reuse so that we can achieve the low carbon, zero-waste economy that our planet, communities, and climate desperately need.”
