#DRC

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is just one of the countries where Greenpeace Africa operates. We campaign to protect the Congo Basin forest by building resistance to the expansion of industrial logging and other unsustainable industrial exploitation of the precious forest and peatland ecosystems. To this end, we investigate and expose unfair and destructive forest use and work with civil society and local communities to amplify their voices and enable continued sustainable community use of forest resources. Besides, we promote solutions for sustainable development like community forestry that enable local communities to effectively exercise their rights on their own forest management.

The Greenpeace Africa DRC office opened in Kinshasa in 2008.
