We wrote to European Commission Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans and European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius asking them to introduce a strong EU law to keep products linked to destruction of forests and other ecosystems off the EU market. We urged them not to rely on certification schemes to protect nature, nor as a means to show compliance with EU legislation, as new research has shown that these schemes greenwash destructive products.
