Ummah for Earth

Malaysia is home to many cultures, faiths, and ethnicities, including more than 50 Indigenous groups. We share this land, and increasingly, the same threats: weakening ecosystems, worsening climate disasters, rising living costs, and the erosion of our rights.

We believe our values can guide the response. Ummah for Earth takes an interfaith, intersectional, rights-based approach: we work alongside faith leaders and scholars, ground our work in science, amplify local communities, and push for a financial system that stops funding what makes our communities sick, hurt, and our planet unlivable.

More than 1,500 Orang Asli and Asal marched in protest, demanding for land rights recognition.

What We’re Facing

The environmental issue is obvious: mountains of garbage, deforestation, homes flooded, lands burned, endless conflicts, continued reliance on fossil fuels, and compromised healthcare. Climate change, environmental imbalance, and competing economic interests threaten life on our planet, humanity and the most vulnerable communities worldwide.

What We’re Building Together

Ummah for Earth is not just a campaign, it is a growing global community and movement of people taking decisive and collective action against climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and human rights violations. Driven and inspired by values that call for preservation of humanity, stewardship of our Earth, non-discrimination in how we treat others, our goal is to restore the balance in our lives through more sustainable, environmentally mindful means. We are dedicated to highlighting the human side of climate stories and standing up for those hit hardest by climate injustices. We urgently call on Malaysian leaders, religious figures, and communities to rise up and take decisive action for our planet.

Fade out from Fossil fuels

Coal and gas are not just outdated. They’re harmful, finite, and fueling climate breakdown.

Ethical Finance

We want a financial system that puts people first. One that is proactive, fair, ethical, and truly protects life and public interest rather than short term gains.

Resilient Communities

Amplifying existing initiatives and building capacity in our movement for communities to build resilience against climate change.

Power to the people

Empowering local communities to make positive changes for their environment and lives, and inspire others to do the same.

Our Work for the Earth

We’re working alongside local and regional alliance members through stakeholder policy meetings, community gatherings, documentary screenings, creative activism, and collective action that uplifts communities, creates awareness on the gaps in our financial framework, and builds capacity in sustainable living.

Climate Finance

From affected communities to financial institutions, we are pushing for banks and regulators to mandate proactive human rights and environmental due diligence in investment frameworks, rooted in research, community needs, ethical values, and real solutions. Responsible Business and Human Rights also applies to the financial sector.

Green Ramadan

Extending beyond the month of Ramadan, we’re fostering practical and mindful solutions with communities to better manage waste and consumption in a sustainable manner, while advocating to key stakeholders on the importance of institutional reform in these areas.
