Green Reconstruction of Ukraine
We are dedicated to the green and sustainable reconstruction of schools, hospitals, and kindergartens. Greenpeace Ukraine actively advocates for and supports green solutions for municipalities while working to enhance the energy efficiency of the country’s social infrastructure.

hospitals have been destroyed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion

Problem
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, thousands of schools, hospitals, and kindergartens in Ukraine have been damaged—some need to be rebuilt from scratch, others require partial rebuilding. While the war continues, discussions about reconstruction have already begun.
People need functional schools and hospitals in their cities and villages.
Our work
In 2022, Greenpeace Austria launched the “Green Reconstruction of Ukraine” project to advocate for sustainable rebuilding in the country. This project demonstrates how reconstruction should be conducted and why it’s crucial not to revert to outdated, fossil fuel-powered solutions.
Instead, the goal is to build a better and greener Ukraine.
