Stand for Forests Campaign
Malaysia’s forests are more than trees; they safeguard our air, water, and climate, and are home to communities, wildlife, and heritage we all share. Protecting them is our collective responsibility.
Strong laws, transparency, accountability, and fair funding are essential to keep them standing for generations to come.
Our Approach
We take a two-pronged approach to protect Malaysia’s forests, positioning policy change as the central goal while using complementary strategies to mobilise public support and influence decision-makers:
Policy advocacy
We lobby parliamentarians and key ministries around five policy demands, ensuring every action, from petitions to events, builds toward tangible legislative wins.
Public awareness and empowerment
We engage forest and indigenous communities, and the wider public in conversations and on-ground activities year-round through cultural and lifestyle connections; to turn environmental crises like haze or floods into urgent calls for action.
Our Projects
We use community engagement, creative activism, and policy recommendations to expose the real cost of deforestations and demand long-term solutions. These actions centre the voices of communities who are often left behind; those losing their livelihoods with the least protection.
Political lobbying and marches
We push for stronger forest laws backed by public action. Malaysians can send emails directly to Members of Parliament to demand better forest protection. We also marched for the forests to to deliver a memorandum of demands for the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13).
Events & activities
From forest bathing to hiking, we bring people together to connect with forests firsthand. Participants get to experience the calm, beauty, and life-sustaining value of our forests, while learning how everyday choices and policies affect their protection.
