The European Fossil Free Future Campaign team is seeking a Digital Lead with experience in social media and content creation.
This is a full-time position, based in one of the Greenpeace offices in Europe or remotely with a starting date on August 1 2026 for a duration of 6 months (with the possibility of extension).

As a digital lead you will create content for the campaign including editing campaign videos, image macros, memes, write supporter emails, take care of the campaigns online platform and work together with colleagues across European offices on online and social media outputs for the campaign.
Your responsibilities will include:
CONTENT CREATION Identifies and creates the digital content in collaboration with NRO colleagues that is needed for the campaign to make the necessary impact. This includes creating fast and high quality video content for social media and the creation of image macros for the campaign as well as the design of other digital campaign materials like supporters emails.
Creates digital content in rapid response situations for the campaign and shares them with the organisation. Monitors and measures the performance of the digital content across platforms, as well as the conversations around the campaign topics.
DIGITAL PROJECT COORDINATION Coordinates digital projects such as the build of petitions, websites or bigger content production projects. Proactively builds/manages relationships with relevant internal stakeholders to get maximum buy-in and cooperation. Guides and supports internal digital team members in delivering on the international and national digital work. Liaises and coordinates with other stakeholders such as Greenpeace International communications hubs, global engagement department and external agencies in order to secure input, resources, and support for the project/cluster.
DIGITAL STRATEGY With support from the wider team and offices, develops and implements a Digital Strategy for the cluster. Contributes to the broader strategic development of the project; working as part of the project core team to create detailed short and mid term digital campaign plans, which occasionally involves writing planning documents, budgeting, resourcing, development of tactics and other.
ENGAGEMENT JOURNEYS Conducts message testing and audience targeting. Looks beyond best practices for new and innovative ways of engaging target audiences. Ensures the implementation of best practices across all digital engagement channels and tools. Ensures ongoing work development is part of an iterative test-improve-test process. Responsive to relevant news and external events, serving as first point of contact at times and identifies opportunities and responses to help meet communication objectives.
What we are looking for:
- A history of creating social media content that results in above average performance and organic growth, and/or reaching new audiences,
- Outstanding expertise in online platforms and tools such as Tiktok, Instagram or Youtube
- Self starter able to jump in proactively and quickly offer ideas and turn around content
- An understanding and commitment to frequent testing and data analysis;
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience in working in an international environment and within cross-cultural and geographically distributed teams
- Background in/or strong understanding of climate justice activism (intersectional, decolonial perspective a plus)
- Articulate, creative, and passionate, with excellent written and spoken English
- Flexible, collaborative and responsive
- Expertise with tools for creating and editing photo and video content
