March for Peace

Aotea Square, Auckland – 12pm, Saturday June 20th

Join us in calling for a future that prioritises people and planet.

What is the March for Peace?

Greenpeace Aotearoa is teaming up with Anti-War Aotearoa (AWA) for a peaceful protest to demand that the Government ends Aotearoa’s complicity in Trump’s warmongering.

The March for Peace will start at midday (12:00pm) from Aotea Square in Auckland and head down Queen Street.

We’re calling on the Government and all political parties to prioritise people and the planet over conflict.

Bring a friend, a banner, a sign or a drum to hikoi for peace > power!

Why are we marching?

The fight to protect nature and the fight for world peace are the same battle.

Aotearoa has a proud history of standing up for nuclear disarmament and peace. It is time for us to be that brave voice of reason in the world once again and build a future grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, justice, and real peace.

When we gather at Aotea Square, we’ll be calling for a return to independent foreign policy in Aotearoa that prioritises peace, upholds the UN charter, and supports the wellbeing of people and planet. We will be demanding that Luxon stops supporting Trump’s wars by:

Saying no to war minerals and no new mining

Aotearoa can remove itself from foreign resource conflicts by refusing new mining, especially on conservation land. We must leave vulnerable ecosystems intact instead of allowing the US to stockpile war minerals from Aotearoa.

Saying no to military support for wars of aggression

No to deploying troops, military assets, or intelligence to US-led wars of aggression.

Sanctioning Israel

Immediate and meaningful sanctions on Israel to help end the genocide in Gaza.

Fund communities, not conflict

Put public money into the things our communities actually need, like healthcare, affordable housing, and urgent climate action, instead of militarisation.

Our security doesn’t come from destroying nature to fund weapons manufacturing, it comes from standing up for what is right. Join us on 20 June to call on the Government and all political parties to prioritise people and the planet over conflict!

Book your calendar, and prepare to stand shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people for nature, peace, democracy, and Te Tiriti. Let’s make our voices impossible to ignore.

Bring a friend, bring a banner

End NZ’s complicity in Trump’s wars
