Sea otters have a loose fold of skin under their arms that acts like a built-in pocket to store their favorite rock. They use these rocks like a hammer and anvil to crack open hard-shelled food such as mussels and crabs.
Some otters even keep the same rock for their entire lives! It’s a truly rock-solid relationship! At Greenpeace, we’re trying to stay as resilient and resourceful as our whiskered friends.
