Peace may seem like a big and distant idea, but through the Wave to Peace project, I learned that it can begin with small actions and meaningful connections between people. Organised as an independent student coursework initiative by students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT), the project became more than just an assignment for my teammates and me, it became a memorable journey.

A Journey of Teamwork and Creativity

One of the most meaningful parts of this project was the opportunity to work closely with my teammates throughout the entire process. From brainstorming fundraising ideas to planning our activities together, every stage of the project required teamwork and cooperation.

For our fundraising booth, we spent time discussing what food and drinks we wanted to sell and eventually decided on rabboki, lemonade, and Ribena longan drinks. We even prepared and tested the rabboki together before the event, which became one of the fun moments we shared as a team.

Besides preparing for the booth, we also created and filmed promotional and awareness content together to engage other students and teachers about the importance of our environment and how it’s our shared responsibility to care for it. These activities allowed us to quickly spread awareness about our project while learning how to communicate and collaborate more effectively.

In addition to outreach activities, we also organised a fundraising booth where food and drinks were sold to support the cause. The booth created a lively and welcoming atmosphere, bringing people together while raising awareness about peace and environmental sustainability.

Through these efforts, the project successfully raised a total of RM2,075.18. This achievement reflected not only the dedication and hard work of the team, but also the support and generosity from the community.

Although there were small disagreements and stressful moments during the preparation process, we managed to problem-solve together as a team. With a clear shared goal, we were able to ensure clear communication and strong collaborationThrough discussions, cooperation, and teamworkmutual understanding, we were able to support one another and continue working toward the same goal. The experience taught us that teamwork is not about avoiding challenges, but about learning how to overcome them together.

Protecting What Connects Us All

A key highlight of the project was collaborating with Greenpeace to bring awareness about protecting marine life and the ocean. Through this collaboration, we learned that peace is not only about relationships between people, but also about maintaining harmony with the environment.

The ocean plays an important role in sustaining life, yet it continues to face threats such as pollution and environmental damage. By supporting awareness for marine conservation, the project encouraged people to reflect on the importance of protecting nature and taking responsibility for the world around us.

Reflection and Conclusion

Although the Wave to Peace project has officially ended, the memories and lessons from the experience continue to stay with me. What started as a coursework project became a meaningful journey where we were able to learn, have fun, create memories, and grow together as a team at the same time.

Most importantly, the project showed me that even small actions can create a positive impact when people work together with a shared purpose. Whether through fundraising, outreach activities, content creation, or spreading awareness about environmental responsibility, every effort contributed to something meaningful for both the community and ourselves.
