Activists from Greenpeace Slovakia take part in an 'Actions for Climate' event. They visit a wind farm in Cerova and hold placards calling for more action to combat climate change and for governments to invest more in renewable energy.

From the waters of the Arctic to the beaches of Indonesia, thousands are taking part in a Global Day of Action to demand the phasing out of fossil fuels and nuclear energy, and the transition to 100% renewables.
The Global Day of Action, under the banner of Actions for Climate, is supported by more than 100 environmental groups across the world, including Coalition Climat 21, CAN, 350.org and Avaaz. It is part of several days of activities inspired by the UN summit on the Sustainable Development Goals, one of which is the need to protect the planet from catastrophic climate change.
