This September, we will be celebrating one of the forest’s quietest little stars: the red panda.
Red pandas aren’t as famous as the black and white giant that shares their name, but they’re no less deserving of recognition. We thought they’d make the perfect animal for this month’s digital wallpaper, a bright reminder of the forests and animals you’re helping to protect.

You might be surprised to learn that red pandas are closer cousins to raccoons than to giant pandas. Sadly, what isn’t surprising is that the red panda population has declined by 50% in 20 years and there may be as few as 2,500 remaining in the wild. Habitat destruction and climate change are threatening their home and future.
Thanks to your support, Greenpeace is standing up for forests and the wildlife that depend on them, including the mountain treetops where red pandas live.
